• Instructions for Windows 95 and Windows 98

1. Double-click your "My Computer" icon on your desktop. If you can't find it on your
   desktop, look for "My Computer" under your Start Menu.

2. Double-click your "Dial-Up Networking" Icon.

3. Double-click your "Make New Connection" icon.

4. Type a name for this connection. You can use "DirecLink.com".  Then click "Next".

5. Type the 7 digit local access number. (example: 417-2110).  Leave "Area Code" blank.
    (if you don't know what your local access number is, you can search here for one)
    Click Next.

6. Now it should say the setup was completed successful. Click "Finish".

7. With your RIGHT mouse button, click on DirecLink.com icon. This will produce a small
   pop-up menu. In the pop-up menu, click on "Create Shortcut". Then click "Yes".

8. Close all windows and look for DirecLink.com icon on your Desktop and double-click it.

9. Enter your Username and Password and click "Connect" to connect to the internet.

• Instructions for Windows 2000 and Windows XP

1. From the Start menu, choose Control Panel.

   

2. Click the Network and Internet Connections icon.

            OR

   Click the Internet Options icon.

    

3. Click the Set up or change your Internet connection icon.

            OR

   Click the Connections Tab

    

4. Click the Setup button.

   

    

    

5. Click the Next button.

   

    

    

    

6. Select Connect to the Internet.
7. Click the Next button.

   

    

    

    

8. Select Set up my connection manually.
9. Click the Next button.

   

    

    

    

10. Select Connect using a dial-up modem.
11. Click the Next button.

    

     

     

     

12. In the ISP Name field, type: DirecLink.com
13. Click the Next button.

    

     

     

     

14. In the Phone number field, type your local access number exactly as it needs to be dialed.

    (if you don't know what your local access number is, you can search here for one)
    Note: If you require 10-digit dialing in order to access a local number, make sure to include your area code.

15. Click the Next button.

    

     

     

     

16. In the Username field, type your DirecLink username.
17. In the Password field, type your password.
18. In the Confirm password field, type your password.
19. Check: Use this account name and password when anyone connects to Internet from this computer.
20. Check:  the box next to Make this the default Internet connection.
21. Uncheck: Turn on Internet Connection Firewall for this connection.
22. Click the Next button.

    

     

     

     

23. Check the box next to Add a shortcut to this connection to my desktop

25. Close all windows and look for the DirecLink.com icon on your Desktop and double-click it.
26. Enter your Username and Password and click "Connect" to connect to the Internet.
